Description

A festive homemade Christmas jam combining tart cranberries, sweet strawberries, bright citrus, and warm cinnamon for the perfect holiday spread.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries
  • Zest and chopped fruit of 1 large orange
  • ¼ cup water or fresh orange juice
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Rinse cranberries, remove stems, hull and chop strawberries.
  2. Combine cranberries, strawberries, orange zest, orange flesh, and orange juice in a heavy-bottomed pot.
  3. Add sugar and cinnamon stick, stirring over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  4. Bring mixture to a rolling boil, then reduce to a steady simmer.
  5. Simmer 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  6. Test consistency using the cold plate test or thermometer (220°F).
  7. Remove cinnamon stick, ladle into sterilized jars, leaving ¼-inch headspace. Seal and process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

Notes

For a healthier twist, substitute part of the sugar with honey, maple syrup, or fruit puree. Frozen berries can be used without thawing. Always sterilize jars for safe preservation.
