A delightful homemade Blueberry Peach Jam that combines the sweet succulence of ripe peaches with the tart burst of blueberries, capturing the essence of summer in every spoonful.

- 4 cups peaches, chopped (about 4 lbs)
- 4 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- ½ cup water
- 5½ cups sugar
- Optional: ½ teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1 stick cinnamon
- Optional: ½ teaspoon whole cloves
- Optional: ¼ teaspoon whole allspice
Instructions
- Prepare canning equipment with sterilized jars and lids.
- Peel, pit, and chop peaches. Wash blueberries (or thaw and drain if frozen).
- In a heavy pot, combine peaches, blueberries, lemon juice, and water. Bring to boil, then simmer 10 minutes.
- Add sugar and optional spices (in cheesecloth bag). Stir until dissolved.
- Boil rapidly, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches 220°F (about 15-20 minutes).
- Test doneness with chilled plate test. Remove spice bag if used.
- Ladle hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving ¼-inch headspace. Wipe rims and seal.
- Process jars in boiling water bath: 10 minutes (sea level) or 15 minutes (above 6,000 ft).
- Cool jars, check seals, and store properly.
Notes
For best results, use ripe peaches and fresh blueberries. Adjust sugar only with low-sugar pectin to ensure proper gel formation.
